I'm back from New York (!!!) and St. Louis -- with a ton of souvenirs. And I'm moving into the hotel today, so that should be cool. Interesting? Let's go with both. After all, the hotel seems like the place to be these days.

This year's commencement speakers (at UCLA) are pretty cool. The founder of the Huffington Post, Oliver Stone (the guy that did "JFK," "Nixon," and "W"), and James Franco. Franco's speaking June 12th at 5, if anyone wants to go with me. He's not my favorite actor, but he was hilarious in Pineapple Express. Here's hoping they get someone like Halle Berry in 2012.

Is anyone at the hotel from New York, or someone who visits on a regular basis? My roommate and a few of our friends are going there as soon as the quarter ends to see the sights and, most importantly, hit up a Yankees game (looks like we’ll be seeing them play the Mets). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of things to do that doesn’t involve the typical overpriced tourist traps. Not that anything’s wrong with the Empire State Building, but it’s kind of expensive.
But no worries if you guys don’t have any ideas. I mean, I’m not going until June, and it’s not set in stone just yet. Who knows what’ll happen between now and then.

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I thought I'd ask anyway: is it possible that I can spend the weekend at hotel? My roommate is going to occupied with his visiting girlfriend the entire time, so he asked me to leave. I can find an alternative if there isn't a place for me to stay, but there's no harm in asking, right?

I'm making my first official visit to the hotel today, which means I'm going to need a tour guide. Any volunteers? I can pay you in snacks and half-written essays.

I was given one of these things earlier and told to find someone named Hank? I'm supposed to ask you can figure out anything about my powers.
Oh, right. I'm Everett. I guess I should say something more than that, right? I'm from St. Louis and I'm currently majoring in political science at UCLA. Not really into blogs or Facebook, so I've never really done this. Hi?
